
Intellisense Systems




Intellisense Systems designs and manufactures sensing and display systems for military, aerospace and commercial customers. It is based at 21041 S. Western Ave. in Torrance, California. Operations began in September 2017 as a spin-off of POC, which announced it on February 23, 2018. The company is privately held and employee-owned.

- Avionics displays, including the LAD-2008, PFD-1209, VDT-1209 and SVDT models, certified up to DAL A
- Micro Weather Stations (MWS), including the MWS-C600 with a lidar ceilometer that measures cloud layers up to 10,000 feet AGL
- IWOS Integrated Weather Observation System, named the preferred tactical weather station by the U.S. Air Force in 2022
- Intelligent power management and distribution systems
- Quantimet environmental data software
The MWS-C600 combines the data logger, processor, communications unit, ceilometer and solar power in one unit weighing 5 lbs. The IWOS weighs 25 lb and one person can set it up in under 15 minutes. A large part of the work is form-fit-function replacement of obsolete electronics. Displays are qualified to MIL-STD-810, -461, -704 and DO-160.

- Boeing selected Intellisense to supply Data Concentrator Units and 15-inch Multifunction Displays for the C-17 Flight Deck Replacement program, with an estimated lifetime value over $400 million
- U.S. Air Force contract to replace multi-function controls and displays on the C-5M Super Galaxy (2022)

- $8,218,891 U.S. Air Force contract for nuclear flash blindness protection goggles (2026)
Customers include the U.S. military, commercial businesses, and state and local governments.
Certifications and approvals
The quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015/AS9110C. The company reached CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 3 in November 2019. Production staff hold secret-level security clearances and follow ITAR.
Locations
The Torrance headquarters covers over 80,000 square feet across two facilities. In 2021 the company added 20,000 square feet of production, testing and office space at 21061 South Western Ave. It produced its 2,000th Micro Weather Station in November 2023.
