About HPH sailplanes

HpH Sailplanes makes high performance fiberglass gliders. The company is based in Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic, about 60 km from Prague. Its headquarters is in the VTP SCITEC Center. The site lists Jaroslav Potmesil as managing director.

The company was founded in 1994. It says it has long been part of the aviation industry. It lists work on the early construction of the Diamond Dimona and Katana, and more recently the EB29. The site says this work earned a name for build quality and attention to detail.

In 1997 HpH obtained the technology and production papers for the Glasflügel 304, a glider developed by Eugen Hänle. It started production that year with an updated model, the HpH 304CZ. The company then added the HpH 304C Wasp, a lower cost version for the FAI Standard Class. FAI is the world air sports federation. The site says both models are well liked in the gliding community.

HpH then designed its own range of gliders from scratch, led by the Shark series. The site says more than 70 Shark gliders have shipped to customers in North America, Canada, Australia and across Europe. The range includes a two seat model called the TwinShark.

The news section says the new HpH 304 Shark 4 made its first flight on 3 August 2026. It says the company developed a completely new 18 metre wing for the Shark. HpH also reports that it added the FES system to the single seat Shark. It works with LZ design on this option.

The company also promotes soaring trips in Namibia. It offers slots for the 2026 and 2027 season at Veronica Flying Lodge, over the Kalahari. It invites visitors to meet the team at the Swiss Gliding Day in Hagen in 2026.

The HpH website has pages for each model, news, events and company history. Key dates include the founding in 1994 and the opening of a new headquarters in 2016. A contact page lists the management and press relations in German.
