Heading365 makes flight management system trainer apps for pilots, airlines and flight schools. The apps help users practice FMS skills outside the simulator, so that simulator time is used well. The company has a phone number in Austria.

The site says more than 62,130 pilots use its products. It sorts its customers into three groups. Individual pilots can prepare for simulator sessions or airline screening, including practice with a dual FMC failure. Airlines can put the trainer on every pilot's electronic flight bag. A two year field trial with almost 700 pilots is described as showing gains in skill and fewer extra sessions. Flight schools and approved training organizations can use it so that trainees do not lose time getting set up.

Trainers are listed for the Airbus A320, the A330 and A340, the Embraer E-Jet in Load 25 and Load 27, the Boeing 777 and the Boeing 787. Trainers for the Airbus A220, A350 and A380 and the Boeing 747-8 and 737 are marked coming soon. The company says it is working on other types, except the 707.

The A320 trainer simulates the Thales FMS 2 Release 1A. It has a freeplay mode that lets users fly any route to any airport. The company can load a customer's ARINC 424 database or give a worldwide navigation database. A full navigation display is built into the main screen, and users can move through single waypoints. One button simulates different phases of flight. Other modes include guided training and advanced FMS training.
