Gispol

Gispol designs and makes travel packaging and onboard service items in Portugal. It works for airlines, high-speed train operators and cruise lines. Gispol is a family-owned company. It has worked in the travel industry since 1993.

The company makes items in plastic, cardboard, porcelain, paper, glassware and cutlery. It also makes comfort items. The range runs from rotable items, which are used many times, to disposable ones. Gispol says every item is designed to improve the onboard experience.

Gispol has its own design and production team. It manages the whole process in-house, from the first idea to finished production. This gives shorter lead times and its own quality control. The company can handle small production runs and large orders. It also offers custom-made designs. As a family-owned business, it says it gives personal service from the first enquiry to delivery.

Gispol shows several airline projects. For Air India Premium Economy it designed a rotable dining set with an embossed pattern. For TAAG Economy Class it made square plates, an octagonal bowl and a cup, with embossed recycled PET lids that carry the TAAG logo. For Azores Airlines it made a Business Class porcelain set. For Iberia it developed an oval casserole in Ultem, with a matching heat-resistant lid. Both parts are oven-safe and dishwasher-safe.

Sustainability is part of how Gispol works. In some projects, its Closed Loop System collects used trays and cutlery and turns them into new products. It uses recycled cardboard for outer cartons and recycled PET for thermoforming. Cutlery packs use FSC-certified paper.

Gispol says it works with major names in aviation. Airlines it names as clients include TAP Portugal, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Finnair, Emirates, Delta, British Airways, Wamos Air, SATA, Royal Air Maroc, Oman Air, Gulf Air, Croatia Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Air Greenland and Air Belgium.
