About Aviation Sustainability Forum

Aviation Sustainability Forum is a data consultancy that helps airlines cut cabin waste. It describes the cost of cabin waste to airlines as a 3 billion dollar problem. The company turns waste data into action plans that save money and reduce waste. It says it has five years of global experience running Cabin Waste Composition Audits.

Its audits follow the CWCA standard, which was produced in conjunction with IATA. The company says its benchmark audits are endorsed by IATA. The audits measure all cabin waste. They show how much waste there is and what it is made of.

The company gives airlines verified cabin waste data and analytics. Airlines use them to cut total waste and catering costs, to improve waste recovery and circularity, and to understand customer experience metrics and preferences.

Its method has three steps. In the first step, Analyse, CWCA audits measure cabin waste in detail. In the second, Evaluate, a reduction programme is built so that each round cuts waste further while saving money through reducing, recycling and re-using. In the third, Improve, inventory management looks at what passengers actually consume.

The company offers four main products and services. The CWCA Programme gives a full analysis of an airline's total cabin waste. AI Tracking Technology uses proprietary data feeds to measure consumption flight by flight over time. Consultancy helps airlines link waste data to loading data, build waste reduction plans and meet commercial and sustainability goals. Global industry-wide benchmarks let airlines compare their cabin waste with others and spot key waste targets.

The ASF Insight Platform holds airline data and global benchmark data. Users can view it by flight, waste location, waste material, cabin class and waste state. The CWCA Audit app collects data on the move, with several data points for each waste item. It runs on Android and iOS phones and tablets. Real-time AI tracking in the catering unit records key waste and supports flight-by-flight data, so airlines can track progress and compare consumption with loading.
