About FTE Jerez

FTEJerez is a flight training organization located at Jerez Airport in southern Spain. It began in 1988 as the British Aerospace Flying College in Prestwick, Scotland. The school moved to Jerez in 1999 and became FTEJerez in 2003. It has focused on pilot and air traffic control training for more than three decades.

The organization trains aspiring airline pilots through several programs. Its Airline First Officer Programme is an integrated EASA ATPL course designed to prepare cadets for airline operations. The Flight Deck plus+ program offers modular training that includes CPL, IR, and APS MCC instruction. Additional pilot courses include A320 type rating training, advanced upset prevention and recovery training, and university studies that students complete alongside the ATPL.

FTEJerez also provides full scope air traffic control training at centers in Jerez, Madrid, and Barcelona. In 2026, the school is teaching more than 120 students across 12 ATC courses. This training prepares students for careers as air traffic controllers in multiple locations across Spain.

The school operates a large fleet of training aircraft. It flies Diamond DA42 NG twin engine planes equipped with Garmin G1000 and Piper PA28 Archer DTX aircraft with Garmin G1000 NXi. The fleet also includes Piper PA28 Warrior II aircraft with Garmin G5, a Robin R2160, and a Citabria High Country Explorer. Students also train in a Boeing 737 FFTX simulator and an A320 simulator.

FTEJerez has graduated more than 2,000 pilots since its founding. In 2009, its graduates were the first to receive the MPL from the UK CAA. The school partners with many airlines including Aer Lingus, British Airways, easyJet, Air Astana, Air Europa, Etihad, Iberia, Jet2, and others.

The company maintains its own EASA Part 145 maintenance center for its training fleet. It also runs a residential aviation campus where students can live during their training. This campus supports students who come from Spain and from many other countries.
