About Flexcompute

Flexcompute builds GPU-native physics simulation software and AI tools for engineers who design aircraft, vehicles, chips and photonics. Its stated mission is to make the real world computable. The company wants engineers to test ideas against the laws of physics before they commit to hardware, and to cut the time between a design question and a physics-based answer.

The core idea is the Physics Twin. AI agents work alongside engineers to build a living model of a design, with physics encoded into it. Engineers can ask that model questions and get answers in seconds. Every answer can be traced to validated, GPU-native simulation. Flexcompute describes this as fast because it is agentic and trusted because it is physics.

The product range covers the whole design workflow. GeometryAI processes geometry, detects free edges and produces solver-ready surface meshes from raw CAD. Flow360 handles computational fluid dynamics, and AutoInsight uses AI to optimize aerodynamic designs. Tidy3D is an electromagnetic simulation suite, PhotonForge designs photonic integrated circuits, and RF covers RF and microwave design.

Nexus is an on-premises simulation platform for customers who need to keep their work inside their own systems. FlexAgent is an agent-native simulation framework. Tidy3D is listed as 10 to 500 times faster than workstations, able to handle problems 100 to 1000 times larger, and able to run tens to hundreds of concurrent jobs without extra licenses or computers.

The company shows a sample agent session on its site. It works through a drag reduction study on a hatchback concept in four steps: prepare the geometry, compose the study, run GPU-native solvers and interpret the results. The example moves from raw production CAD to a detected set of open edges, an automatically generated mesh and a surface pressure field from CFD.

Flexcompute has more than 10 years of experience, over 100 team members, more than 65 PhDs and over 20,000 users. It was created by engineers from MIT and Stanford. More than 250 companies and academic institutions use its tools. Logos shown on the site include Anduril, Beta, Coherent, Hermeus, Joby, Northrop Grumman, Samsung and Xanadu.

Flexcompute also offers academic and student resources, training, technical support and a partner ecosystem. On sustainability, it argues that simulating earlier and more often reduces the need for physical prototypes and wind tunnel testing. Its cloud-first design scales with demand, so customers use only the resources they need.
