About Egis

Egis is an engineering and operating firm for transport, cities and sustainable resources, with offices across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. It calls itself a global architecture, consulting, construction engineering and operating firm. The group employs 23,500 people.

Egis says its mission is to create and run smart buildings and infrastructure that respond to climate change. It works end to end, from the first idea through design to operation and beyond. Its teams cover mobility, energy and the built environment, and the company says it works in a sustainable way.

Air transport is one of its transport sectors, alongside urban transit, rail, road, maritime, major structures and geotechnical engineering. Egis has a network of 17 airport destinations, which now share one visual identity. It also runs a project called Aviation lifelines for small islands, which spans several countries. The project aims to build resilience for remote communities.

Egis helps clients in three ways. Advisory and delivery covers architecture, consultancy, design and engineering, programme and project management, and training and certification. Managing and operating covers infrastructure management, mobility and urban services, road user services and on-street parking. Transformation covers sustainability, digital engineering, smart mobility and asset management.

The firm also works in buildings, cities, industrial and process engineering, defence, sports and events, environment, low-carbon energy, nuclear and water. Its maritime team has more than 70 years of experience in coastal risk management and coastal development. It offers vulnerability studies, climate based engineering studies and project management for coastal erosion and flooding.

Recent projects include a cricket stadium in Varanasi, the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi, a water project in Mexico and the Montreal Blue Line extension. In mobility services, Egis runs parking systems in more than 40 European cities and has operated Ireland's national speed enforcement service since 2010.
