DSA Detection
DSA Detection makes DHS approved trace detection consumables and inert IED training aids for explosive trace detection and security screening.
About DSA Detection
DSA Detection makes and sells its own brand of DHS approved trace detection consumables. These are used to run and maintain explosive trace detection, or ETD, machines. The company also makes X-ray correct inert explosive simulants and IED training aids for screeners.
The company says its consumables work with the main explosive trace detection instruments on the market. The site names Leidos (formerly L3HARRIS), Smiths Detection and Rapiscan as makers of compatible systems. The company says it sources and makes all its own products and that they are compatible with the instruments they are sold for.
The company sells inert training aids. These include a steel steak knife with a dulled, blue rubber coated blade that is safe to handle. The site also lists training kits, concealed IED devices, explosive simulants and assemblies, narcotics and prohibited item training aids, and threat displays and posters.
The site says the products are used by homeland security, military and airport personnel around the world. Screening officers use the training aids to learn how to spot guns, knives, explosives and explosive parts such as firing circuits and blasting caps.
The company also provides classroom and security officer training courses. The site has a skills test called Threat or Safe. It says the company was founded in 2005. Its president and chief executive, Dave Rutter, has worked in homeland security and national defense since 1980, according to the site.
Visitors can ask for ETD consumable samples, submit a request, or call the freephone number 866-372-3213. The main phone number is +1 978-975-3200. The site has an online store and says ETD consumables can ship the same day when ordered in time.
