CMTechron

CMTechron is a South Korean maker of protective covers, insulation and heating products for the defence and aerospace industries. Its Changwon site is its base. The company says it began in 1986 making tents.

The company works in four areas. In aviation, it supplies products used while aircraft are in service and being maintained. In ground equipment, it supplies products that help weapons keep working in harsh places. In sea equipment, it supplies items to help run and maintain ships. In training, it designs and makes portable thermal target systems for day and night firing practice.

Covers are a core product. CMTechron says it supplies all domestic aircraft covers in Korea. Its covers are made under an aerospace and defence quality system, with strict checks on each process and lot. It took part in the KF-X programme for the Korean air force and developed covers from different materials for it. The press page says it supplies insulation and protective covers for the K9 self-propelled gun, the LAH light armed helicopter and the KF-21 fighter.

Insulation is another product. These materials protect core parts from high heat and shock, such as ground equipment, aircraft engines and APUs. The range also includes sound absorbing material, strap assemblies and special-purpose bags.

The firm's heating technology is called HeatFlex. It is a sheet heater built from metal fibre. The company uses it in its multipurpose thermal tactical target for military training. It also uses it in a battery preheat heater, which helps batteries work better in winter.

Its research work centres on thermal management. The heating process starts by studying the customer's setting, then material and pattern design, a prototype, and tests with a thermal camera. The insulation process follows similar steps and looks at heat, vibration and moisture.

CMTechron shows its products at many fairs. In 2026 these included the Sacheon Air Show, AEROTEC in Changwon, MSPO in Poland, InLEX Korea, SHOT Show and Seoul ADEX in 2025. The company says a US Army representative at SHOT Show offered to include its thermal target in a US Army operational test.
