About Cluster Baja Aerospace

Cluster Baja Aerospace is a non-profit civil association that supports the aerospace industry in Baja California, Mexico. It is made up of mature and varied companies in the aeronautical and aerospace sector. Its mission is to promote the growth of the industry by encouraging collaboration and innovation.

The cluster covers seven business segments: commercial aviation, defense, space, drones, maintenance and repair, logistics and air cargo, and extreme air sports. It also lists airport and airline services. It follows a model it calls the Triple Helix, which links universities, industry and government to drive innovation and economic growth.

The cluster has a clear list of goals. It keeps an updated list of aerospace companies so their operations, products and services are easy to find. It defines a skills matrix for the industry and works with schools on technical and professional talent. It looks for business opportunities and supports more national content by bringing in small and medium suppliers based in Mexico.

It also helps solve problems that slow down aerospace operations in the state. It supports companies that want to start projects or business initiatives. It acts as a funding manager for specific projects that the industry needs. It promotes courses, workshops, seminars and conferences, and it makes promotional and business trips to explain the region's advantages.

The cluster describes Baja California as a state with aerospace talent, strong aeronautics and space skills, and a supply chain of accredited small and medium companies. The aerospace industry there started with manufacturing activity decades ago. Today the state is one of the most important in Mexico for aerospace. The cluster cites a first place nationally in aerospace sector companies, and export value of 3.8 billion US dollars in 2024.

Government bodies and business groups support the cluster, including the state government, Bancomext, Nacional Financiera, Tijuana EDC and other regional councils. It also shares news, webinars, articles and events for its members. Posts cover topics such as safety management, FAA category ratings and hazard and risk taxonomy.
