Cantor Air
Approved flight training organisation near Bergamo
About Cantor Air
Cantor Air is an approved training organisation (ATO IT.ATO.0004) in Mozzo, near Bergamo in Italy, that trains private and professional pilots. Its course range runs from the private pilot licence to the modular airline transport pilot licence, and the school says it combines the rigour of military style training with the attention to procedure of safety management. The site, written in Italian, states that 93 percent of its students are hired by airlines within six months of finishing a course.
The school’s motto is to fly as you train and train as you fly, and it says its courses follow the strictest European standards. It also presents itself as one of the few Italian ATOs that offer aerobatic and upset recovery training.
Courses
- PPL, the private pilot licence: at least 131 hours of theory over about a month and a half, and at least 45 hours of flying, including 30 hours dual and 15 hours solo on a Cessna 152 or Tecnam P2008
- ATPL modular, including a full immersion option, for those who want to become an airline pilot
- A modular course for those who already hold ATPL theory, covering instrument, multi-engine, commercial licence and upset prevention and recovery training
- Aerobatic rating under EASA Part FCL.800, with 6 hours of theory and at least 6 hours of flying in the school’s Mudry CAP 10C
- Flight instructor courses
Fleet and maintenance
The training fleet consists of Tecnam P2008 JC MkII aircraft. Under EASA rules each aircraft is managed by a continuing airworthiness organisation, and maintenance is carried out by Cantor Air Tech, a sister company in the group that holds an EASA Combined Airworthiness Organisation approval. The group also offers airworthiness management for private aircraft.
News
The school has announced the graduation of twenty-two new airline pilots, a programme called Operation Iberia that goes beyond standard training, and a flight instructor course starting on 5 October 2026.
