Bucher Group

Bucher Group started in 1953 in Fallanden, Switzerland, when Heinrich Bucher founded it around light aluminium structures. The company still follows a lightweight construction approach. It works from three locations: Fallanden in Switzerland, Sinn-Fleisbach in Germany and Everett, Washington, in the United States, and the group consists of three companies that share know-how.

Product and service areas

• Catering: galleys and galley equipment
• Cabin: monuments, class dividers, crew work stations, front row monuments, partition walls and self-service counters
• Emergency medical systems for air rescue
• Rail interiors
• Automotive and VIP equipment

Customers

The company says its solutions are used by Airbus, Boeing, Pilatus and other aircraft makers, and by Swiss Federal Railways. Recent news items mention the Riyadh Air Boeing 787 fleet, which features cabin branding by Bucher, and galley refurbishment to extend lifecycles.

Development process

Bucher project leads analyse the customer requirements, prepare general arrangement drawings and create 3D CAD models. Certification engineers work alongside designers. The company tests statics, cycles, temperature, insulation and acoustics to aerospace specifications, and finishes with manuals and drawings for the product lifecycle.
