Avlite Systems

Avlite Systems designs and makes aviation lighting equipment. The site says it is a subsidiary of Sealite Pty Ltd, and that it is part of SPX Technologies. Its products guide aircraft at airfields, helipads and obstruction sites around the world.

The product list includes runway lights, approach lights, helipad lighting, PAPI lights and REIL lights. It also includes monitoring and control systems for airfields and helipads, aviation solar power systems and lighting accessories. Named systems include the LCAMS airfield lighting system, the AV-HMALS High Mobility Airfield Lighting System and the Series 3 LED PAPI.

The company says its products are made for defence, government, civil and humanitarian aid operations in remote and hard places. Its solutions cover airport lighting, heliport lighting, resources, military and defence airfields, mining, HEMS and EMS. The site says solar airfield lighting needs no trenching, no cabling and no qualified electricians.

For military use, the Expedient Airfield Lighting System can be used for temporary, short-term and long-term installation. It needs no special tools or knowledge. LED visible and infra-red light allow an instant blackout and a switch from overt to covert operations.

The company lists its own manufacturing tools. These are a purpose-built plant, research and development, in-house SMT electronics and robotic assembly lines. It also has rotational and injection moulding and in-house toolmaking for its moulds. The toolmaking came from an acquisition in 2010. Robots are used in assembly, programming and testing.
