About A.T.E.S. Italiana
A.T.E.S. Italiana designs, builds and installs ground support equipment for airports. The company is based in Milan, Italy, and its full name is Aviation Technical Equipment Supplies A.T.E.S. Italiana Srl. It says its systems are in use at airports around the world.
The company was founded in 1973 and has over 50 years of experience. It designs, makes and commissions complete ground support equipment systems. It covers every stage, from choosing the right equipment, to custom production, to commissioning and final testing.
Its main products are as follows. Pre-conditioned air units, known as PCA, are fixed and mobile units that cool or heat aircraft parked at the stand. Ground power units, known as GPU, supply electricity to parked aircraft. The company is the exclusive distributor of Dynell GPUs and hatch and pop-up pits at Italian airports. Air distribution systems include linear and drum hose reels and telescopic pipes.
The company also delivers turnkey projects for passenger boarding bridges, including the fitting of related equipment. It began work on bridges in 2012. Its first full hydraulic bridge system was developed in 2009 and was first installed at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.
The company has a long record in Italy. It has supplied 400 Hz frequency converters and PCA units since 1987, with more than 500 systems delivered in Italy and abroad. Its first 400 Hz rotary converter system in Italy went into service in 1989 at Rome Fiumicino airport. Its first hybrid central PCA system in Italy went in at the same airport in 1992. It developed linear hose reels in 2005.
ATES follows a five-step method. Consulting and analysis helps customers define the right solution. Design and customisation covers systems made to order. Manufacturing and assembly follows the agreed specifications. Commissioning and testing checks performance. Service and assistance covers training and technical support after the sale.
The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. It also assesses the carbon dioxide emissions of its work and has an internal environmental strategy. Its mission is to build reliable, efficient and safe ground support systems with a low impact on the environment.
