Ascento
Autonomous security robots for airports and outdoor assets
About Ascento
Ascento is a Swiss robotics company that provides autonomous security robots for outdoor assets, offered as a Robotics-as-a-Service package. The Ascento robot originated at the Autonomous Systems Lab of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), and the company is led by co-founder Miguel de la Iglesia Valls with a team of several nationalities and a group of advisors.
Ascento Guard
- Autonomous patrol robots that secure, maintain and inspect outdoor assets, reducing intervention times and adding data capture alongside cameras and human guards
- Payload with thermal, RGB and infrared cameras for detecting people on premises, verifying perimeter and fence integrity, checking doors, windows and lights, scanning for thermal anomalies and controlling parking lots including licence plate checks
- All-weather operation in rain, snow and wind, more than eight hours of battery life with autonomous charging
- Remote control and monitoring from anywhere, AI-generated reports and integration with existing video management systems
- Installation in hours, a full service package with guaranteed uptime, fast replacements and a 24/7 technical support hotline
Approach
Ascento positions its robots as next-generation security that detects threats faster and with greater accuracy, improves resilience when used next to cameras and guards, and reduces cost from the first day compared with human guards alone. The site offers a savings estimator and resources for customers who want to deploy Ascento Guards on their own sites or offer them to their customers. For airports, the company presents perimeter and asset security robots at airport security and regional airport conferences.
