Antonov

ANTONOV Company was founded on May 31, 1946. The company was led by aircraft designer Oleg Antonov. Its name is used for both the company and its aircraft. The site describes the company as a full cycle aircraft maker.

The site says the company covers the full cycle of aircraft creation. This includes early research, design, construction, tests, certification, serial production and after-sale maintenance.

According to the site, more than one hundred types and versions of passenger, transport and special purpose airplanes were designed by the company. More than 22,000 of these aircraft were built. The site says Antonov aircraft set more than 500 world records.

The company has several main parts. These are a design bureau, production facilities, a flight test and development base, an air transport subdivision, a maintenance and repair unit and a flight crew training unit.

The air transport subdivision is known as Antonov Airlines. The site describes it as a leader in moving superheavy and oversized cargo. A 2022 news item says it carried a communications satellite to be launched by SpaceX.
