ALTA ARES
Autonomous AI for air defence and ISTAR used by allied militaries, from France
About ALTA ARES
Alta Ares is a defense technology company that builds autonomous air defense and surveillance systems. Its systems are deployed from the Baltic region to the Pacific. The company aims to help allied nations build the technology behind future defense, under the motto by allies, for allies.
The company's products follow four steps: detect, deploy, fly and engage. Together they form a full spectrum counter drone architecture. Multiple platforms run under a single autonomy framework, so the systems can be used in several ways.
X-Lock is a multirotor interceptor for short to mid range engagement of several threats, including swarms. It has a top speed of 310 km/h and a tactical radius of 15 km. It uses AI terminal guidance and can work in GPS and GNSS denied areas. Black Bird is a turbojet autonomous interceptor with a top speed of 700 km/h and a tactical radius of 30 km.
Aquila is a first person view strike platform with AI terminal guidance. Cyclops provides autonomous mid course guidance, combining sensing, planning and guidance in one system. Pixel Lock provides AI terminal guidance to help detect, track and intercept targets. It works with the MAVLink protocol and ArduPlane.
Gamma ISTAR provides real time video intelligence. It detects and classifies targets from ISR platforms, cameras and optronic sensors. It is part of the company's surveillance offer.
Alta Ares has seven offices across Europe, the Middle East and North America. These are in Paris, Toulouse, Kyiv, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, New York and Athens. Offices in Munich and London are opening in 2026. The Paris office is the headquarters.
The company has a partnership with Airbus Defence and Space and a strategic memorandum of understanding with General Cherry. It has raised a 50 million euro Series A round.
