About Aldoria

Aldoria is a space surveillance and protection company based in France, with offices in Toulouse and Paris. It tracks objects in orbit and helps satellite operators avoid collisions and threats. The company also has offices in Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium and Austin in Texas.

Aldoria runs its own network of observation stations. Its telescopes send in images every day. These are processed in real time into position and brightness data. Algorithms then merge this with other data sources to build reliable orbits. The result is the Aldoria orbital information system, which aims to locate space objects in all orbits with high accuracy.

The company sells surveillance data in two products. Tracker lets customers request observations of objects of interest. Spacelog gives access to past survey data on any object and any orbit.

Its protection services cover four areas. CALM helps operators avoid collisions in orbit. It is a web application with an API for flight dynamics software. It shows collision risk up to five days ahead and suggests avoidance manoeuvres that suit the operator and the type of propulsion. COLA is a launch risk service for launch operators. It helps pick the best launch date within the launch window.

The Watcher service covers space security. It watches the area around a customer's satellites and studies orbital behaviour to find suspicious objects. It can characterise objects, study patterns of life to predict manoeuvres and send alerts in real time. Attitude determination uses photometry from the Aldoria network to support customers when an anomaly or close approach happens.

Aldoria says space sovereignty matters to governments and to other space operators. It says owning your data keeps you independent in a crisis. The company is funded by the European Union through the European Innovation Council. A senior official at the French space agency CNES has called its observation station concept a promising way to help Europe catalogue space debris.
