About AKMON
AKMON S.A. is a Greek company in Ano Liosia, west of Athens, that makes electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies for defence and aerospace customers.
The company is wholly Greek-owned and was set up in 1988. It works from its own factory in the Ano Liosia Industrial Park. The team is about 40 people, including mechanical, electrical and electronic engineers, skilled technicians and finance staff. AKMON also acts as a representative and technical adviser for foreign and Greek firms that promote products and services to the Hellenic Armed Forces.
AKMON makes, upgrades and rebuilds electro-mechanical assemblies, cable sets and wiring harnesses. It also assembles telecommunications and electronic equipment. This work supports air, sea, land and space defence uses, and the company says it follows high military and aerospace standards. Its applications are grouped as aviation, naval, land and space. The company says it brings 30 years of experience to the changing space sector.
The factory site covers 1,800 square metres of newly built premises, with an 800 square metre production area. It also has a clean room, a training area and a helpdesk that runs around the clock. The company runs its own data centre and its own centre for automatic test equipment.
AKMON holds ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certificates. Its ISO 9001 approval dates from 1999, and its AS9100 approval dates from 2012. It also holds ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 27001:2023, plus VG 96927-2 approval, which is issued by the BAAINBw and the VDE. The firm is entered in the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence register of defence materiel makers, under certificate number 0020. It is also a member in good standing of TRACE International.
Defence and aerospace companies have audited and approved AKMON. These include Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Environics, Airbus Defence and Space, EADS-LFK, GDLS, Oerlikon Contraves, Zeiss, FAUN and AIS. The company also keeps a gender equality and human rights policy and an internal reporting policy.
The stated aim of AKMON is to become a respected player in the Greek defence and aerospace industry, known for high-quality products.
