Air Academy New CAG

Air Academy New CAG is a Belgian flight school at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. It was founded in 1976 at Gosselies airfield and has trained private and professional pilots ever since. It is an approved training organisation, ATO BE/ATO-005, under the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority. In 2026 the school marks 50 years.

Training

Courses are built as modules. Each module leads to a licence or rating and can be planned around your time and budget. The private pilot licence is also the first module of the professional path, so nothing is lost if you change course.

• Private pilot licence PPL(A): 100 hours of theory and at least 45 flight hours. Evening classes in Charleroi, Brussels or Saint-Hubert, or theory by distance learning. Listed at 13,820 euros.
• Professional path to a frozen ATPL in nine modules: ATPL theory (650 classroom hours), hour building, night rating, MEP, IR-ME and CPL, Advanced UPRT and APS MCC on a Boeing 737. Listed at 79,648 euros including VAT at the 1 February 2026 rate, not counting exams, examiner fees, medicals and licence issue.
• Ratings and instruction: night flying, multi-engine, instrument, aerobatics, Advanced UPRT, instructor and examiner ratings, and the Pilatus PC-12 class rating.

Students pay as they go from a personal account they can check online. Most train alongside a job and spread the course over two to three years.
