About Ainstein
Ainstein makes millimeter wave radar sensors in Lawrence, Kansas. The company has worked in radar sensing since 2015. Its sensors help drones, vehicles, sports systems and other machines see their surroundings, even in bad weather or poor light.
In aerospace, Ainstein sells radar altimeters and obstacle avoidance radars for drones and other unmanned aircraft. The altimeter line includes the US-D1, US-D1 Pro, LR-D1 and LR-D1 Pro. The LR-D1 Pro is a dual-band altimeter for takeoff, landing, VTOL flight and high altitude maneuvers, even over water. The OA-Lite and OA-Pro radars detect obstacles and objects.
For vehicles, it makes the O-79 and I-79 imaging radars, the T-79 safety radar and the K-77 long-range radar. They support driver assistance and autonomy, with a focus on construction and industrial vehicles. The company also serves the IoT and sports markets.
Ainstein also works with customers on their own products. Its services cover radar hardware and RF design, firmware and signal processing, AI and algorithms, data connectivity and system integration, app development, manufacturing and lifecycle support. It makes radar modules in small pilot runs through to high-volume production. It says its radar technology is FCC, CE and functional safety certified.
Its radar range includes 24 GHz, 60 GHz and 76 to 81 GHz products. The core team has more than 100 years of combined radar experience, and its projects have been funded by NASA, the National Science Foundation and the European Space Agency.
The company says it has sold more than 23,000 sensors, and its products are in use in more than 40 countries. It reports 30 or more patents pending or approved. Doosan Bobcat is also an investor.
Ainstein sells through distributors and has a partner network for investors, integrators and partners.
