Aeros

Aeros is a Ukrainian maker of hang gliders, powered trikes and related gear. It was set up in 1991 by specialists from the ultralight department of the Antonov design bureau. The company also makes paragliders, kites, rescue systems and harnesses. It sells through a network of dealers around the world.

The nanotrike line is built for powered solo flying. The ANT trike can be ordered with different engines, wings and landing gear. Engine options include units from Vittorazi and Polini, and electric power. Wings in this group include Nine, Fox T, Fox TL, Discus T, Adam T and Combat T. The Nine is a strut-braced nano wing of nine square metres, made for cross country flying in a wider range of weather.

The PRO trike line has two-seat trikes. The Aeros 2 and the Cross Country use Rotax or BMW engines. A Cross Country Hydro version runs on floats. Wings for these trikes include Stranger 2, Stream, Profi, Profi TL, Still, Still TL and StingRay.

Aeros offers a wide choice of hang gliders for beginners and for competitors. The range includes Fox, Target, Discus, Discus C, Combat C and Combat GT. Harnesses for hang gliders, paragliders and speedgliders come in several types, from the Standard harness for training to the Viper models for sport and competition.

Other lines include paragliders and speedgliders, rescue systems for small models and light aircraft, and kites. The kites include single-layer, parafoil, inflatable and kitewing designs. The paragliders, rescue systems and kites each have their own website.

It grew to 15 employees in 1992 and to over 70 specialists by 2001. It built its 3000th wing in 2005 and opened a service centre in Eisenach, Germany that year. At the 2004 European championship, 45 of 121 pilots flew Aeros wings.
