Travel companies

This section lists travel businesses that sit around a flight: independent and luxury travel agents, private tour operators, destination management companies, concierge services, airport lounge and hospitality providers, and specialist services such as pet travel. They are used by holidaymakers, business travellers and private jet passengers who want the ground part of a trip planned as carefully as the flight.

When booking, check that the agent is properly licensed and that your money is protected under the bonding or protection scheme where it operates, what is included in the price, and who you can call if plans change while you are travelling.

There are 62 companies listed, most in the United Kingdom (23), the United States (9) and Italy (3). Examples include:

• Andrew Earle's Holidays, independent travel experts in East Yorkshire since 1993.
• Artisans of Leisure, a luxury private tour operator.
• Brilliant Travel, a destination management company in Athens.
• Encalm Hospitality, providing airport hospitality and lounge services.
• BARK Air, an airline and travel concierge service for dogs and their owners.

To travel privately, compare private jet charter operators or look for discounted empty leg flights, and book chauffeur services for the transfer at each end. Our tips on making air travel easier and your first private jet flight help with planning.
