Walaris

Walaris develops AI-based optical detection systems for counter-drone and airspace awareness. Its AirScout products are turnkey detection systems combining cameras, compute and artificial intelligence that integrate directly into new or existing sensor infrastructure, and the company says it has a decade of experience supporting demanding organisations with millions of hours of operational runtime.

• AirScout Sentry: continuously scans the entire airspace, detecting and classifying drone threats without being told where to look, with a Group 1 detection range of up to 3,000 m; the site notes it can recognise a threat from only a few pixels
• AirScout Verify: classifies and tracks unwanted unmanned aircraft and routes only confirmed threats to operators, rather than adding more screens to watch
• Integration of AirScout software into existing technology stacks, sensors and command systems, with support from Walaris during integration

According to its FAQ, the system does not need someone watching it at all times, the AI does not need updating every time a new drone type appears, and the company works with large enterprises as well as direct procurement. Beyond counter-UAS it also addresses ground and marine detection.

Deployments

Case studies on the site include an expeditionary airfield in the INDOPACOM region operated by the US Department of War, the Savannah River Site nuclear reprocessing facility operated by the US Department of Energy, and State Farm Stadium for an NCAA event. The company describes drones as an expanding threat to ports, pipelines, power grids, borders, correctional facilities, stadiums, airports and large gatherings.
