Uludogan Teknoloji (Nano Helicopter)

Uludogan Teknoloji is a Turkish technology company based in Pendik, Istanbul. Its office sits in the Cube Incubation centre. The company works on defence systems and security technologies, using domestic and national technologies. It also offers some of its unmanned system work for civilian use.

The main project is a nano class unmanned helicopter. It uses a true helicopter design rather than a multi rotor layout. The company says this supports stable hovering and precise movement in confined spaces and windy conditions. Its coaxial rotor structure and rear propeller are said to give more stable flight and faster maneuvering.

The helicopter is designed to operate without GPS. It can work in low visibility areas such as tunnels, caves and building interiors. It can operate autonomously or semi autonomously, with obstacle detection, target tracking and surround mapping. The architecture is open and customizable, and it is developed in Turkey.

The helicopter is aimed at military and civilian users. For military use, the company describes reconnaissance style tasks inside buildings, tunnels and caves where GPS is not available. For civil use, it points to search and rescue and industrial inspection, where a small helicopter can move through tight spaces. The project is also meant for use in disasters and earthquakes.

The project is supported by TÜBİTAK. It was one of 45 defence industry projects to win support out of 833 projects under the TÜBİTAK 1501 Industrial R and D Projects Support Program. The company operates within the Karabük University Technology and Development Zone, known as Teknokent. It says it works with university staff on the project's research content.

The company also lists an artificial intelligence supported flight control card. Its defence work covers unmanned technologies that the site calls field tested. Its civilian technologies apply this work to disaster response, industry and infrastructure security.

The site does not publish weight, flight time, range or payload figures for the nano helicopter. The company says its work continues at THS 4 level, with a goal of reaching THS 9. It also says the project aims to be the first of its kind in Turkey.
