AeroGlow International
HaLO emergency escape lighting for armoured vehicles
About AeroGlow International
AeroGlow International supplies emergency escape lighting for armoured and military vehicles. Its head office is in Salisbury, Wiltshire, near Salisbury Plain. The company says it has built its reputation over two decades.
Its main product is HaLO, an escape lighting system. It helps soldiers find an exit in the few minutes available when a vehicle rolls over, suffers blast damage or goes underwater. The website explains that the human brain can go three to four minutes without oxygen before suffering permanent damage.
HaLO was first fitted to US Special Operations Command RG31 and RG33 vehicles. The UK Foxhound became the first British platform fitted with HaLO. The website says HaLO is now a requirement for all Foxhound vehicles.
HaLO 2 introduced plug and play technology, so the equipment can be fitted more efficiently. An ultra-capacitor power supply protects HaLO against power failures in an emergency. It has a high storage capacity and fast charge and discharge.
AeroGlow holds full control of HaLO's intellectual property. The company says this protects armed forces from poorly made substitutes. The product range includes HaLO components and an explainer on EELS and VELS escape lighting systems. The site also has research and development pages.
AeroGlow International was set up in 2014 to bring HaLO to defence partners around the world. It moved to new headquarters in Salisbury in 2015. In 2016 it bought the property rights to HaLO. The US company, AeroGlow LLC, was set up to give the United States Armed Forces a local service. It put down roots in Virginia with its first international office.
The company's mission is to save soldiers' lives. The website says the team tackles every requirement head on, whether it is a new vehicle, a changing warzone or a client with particular needs. The website also has research and development and quality standards pages.
