Stratus by Appareo

Stratus by Appareo is the avionics product line of Appareo Aviation, an electronics engineering and manufacturing company in Fargo, North Dakota. The Stratus brand covers portable ADS-B In receivers, certified ADS-B Out transponders, USB power products and an electronic flight bag app. The company states that it has developed products for pilots for more than 15 years and that Stratus products are engineered, tested and manufactured in the United States. Appareo Aviation is a division of Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. The parent company has its own page on The Flying Engineer under Appareo Aviation; this page covers the Stratus brand.

Products are sold through the online store and through a dealer network; the site has a dealer locator and a dealer portal. Support request forms, warranty registration and product documentation are published on the support pages.

Cirrus

The Stratus ES/ESG approved model list (AML-STC) published on the site names the Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T, so the ES and ESG transponders can be installed in these aircraft under the STC by a dealer. For the Stratus ES, the site lists approved WAAS GPS position sources to pair with the transponder, including the Garmin GNS 430W and 530W series, GTN 6XX and 7XX, GPS 175 and the Avidyne IFD440 and IFD540. Aircraft not on the AML can be fitted under the lead STC following FAA policy for Part 23 aircraft, according to the same page.

Approvals

The Stratus ES/ESG AML-STC covers Cessna, Piper, Mooney, Cirrus, Diamond, Beechcraft, Aeronca and several helicopter types from Airbus, Bell, Leonardo and Robinson, as listed on the AML page.
