Stell Engineering
Requirements management software for aerospace and defence
About Stell Engineering
Stell develops requirements management software for engineers building hardware in aerospace, defence and other regulated industries. Founded in 2022 by engineers who had worked inside defence and aerospace programmes, the US company offers an AI-native platform that replaces requirements kept in Word documents and spreadsheets with a single structured source of truth, with US-based security. According to its site, Stell is deployed on US Space Force and US Air Force programmes and used by commercial aerospace and defence contractors.
Product
- Import of PDF contracts and specifications, converted automatically into structured, interactive requirements
- A document editor and a structured compliance matrix in one view, so requirements can be written as prose and handled as data
- Bidirectional traceability between requirements, verification and evidence, with an interactive graph of parent-child relationships
- Cataloguing of research and test efforts with evidence linked directly to requirements, and an audit-ready compliance matrix in one click
- Real-time collaboration, global search across programmes, an API with keys scoped to programme data, and sharing of compliance matrices with customers and suppliers
- A pre-loaded library of aerospace and engineering standards
The company says teams are productive in under an hour, compared with 45-day onboarding on legacy platforms, and that verification methods such as analysis, demonstration, modelling and test are tracked against each requirement.
Company
Stell's founders describe spending years fighting legacy tools before deciding to replace them; the team includes systems engineers who know what a compliance matrix review looks like and what it costs when traceability breaks. Demonstrations are offered as 30-minute sessions tailored to a programme.
