SCHROTH Safety Products GmbH makes occupant restraint systems for aerospace, defense and racing. These include seat belts, buckles and airbag systems for air, land and space. The company is based in Germany, where it runs its corporate and production operations in one place. Its stated aim is to save lives.

The timeline on its site lists key steps. In 2005 it became the exclusive restraint system supplier for Etihad. In 2010 the German Bundeswehr ordered four point belts with integrated airbags for 125 armored transport vehicles, and ordered 131 more in 2015. In 2012 it added mine blast protected troop seating.

In 2016 its structure mounted airbag system was certified for commercial aircraft and first used in a Boeing 787. In 2020 its restraint systems flew on the first SpaceX mission to the International Space Station. In 2021 it opened an office in Shanghai for commercial aviation.

A news item says the company revealed a secondary cockpit barrier for the Airbus A320, A330 and A350. Another says Satair and SCHROTH signed an exclusive North American distribution agreement for these barriers.
