Scheme Designers, Inc. is an aircraft paint scheme design company based at 80 Broadway in Cresskill, New Jersey. Founded in 1997 and led by CEO Craig Barnett, it designs exterior paint schemes and vinyl designs for aircraft of all types and sizes, from kit planes and piston singles to business jets, helicopters and airline fleets. The company says that over 16,000 aircraft around the world carry a Scheme Designers livery and that more than half of the OEMs delivering new aircraft have worked with it on factory exterior styling. The team of five full time designers works with each customer from the first idea through application at the paint shop of the customer's choice.

Cirrus Applied Art

Scheme Designers sells Limited Edition Applied Art replacement vinyl decal sets for the Cirrus SR22 and SR20. The programme has 12 ready-made designs named Aero, Arrow, Curl, Elegance, Scribble, Streak, Flow, Clean, Check, Sweep, Twirl and Swirl, intended as an alternative to new paint or factory replacement vinyl. Custom Applied Art and full custom paint schemes for Cirrus aircraft are also available. The published base price is US$2,600 plus shipping and handling; rates change, confirm with the company.

Team

Craig Barnett is a civil engineer, artist and commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings who has flown close to 100 aircraft types. The company has on-staff engineers to check that artistic concepts can be applied accurately, and it attends shows such as EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year.
