Romanair WDR, Inc.

Romanair WDR, Inc. is a full service FBO and maintenance facility at Barrow County Airport (KWDR) in Winder, Georgia, about an hour from Atlanta and 20 minutes from Athens. It is a family business whose history goes back to 1985, when Robert Mancini started an FBO at the airport. His son Drew Mancini has led the company since 2014.

Services

Romanair is an FAA certified Part 145 repair station and a Cirrus Authorized Service Center for the SR20, SR22 and SR22T. It also maintains Beechcraft, Cessna and Piper aircraft, from small pistons to twin turboprops. Work ranges from oil changes and annual inspections to minor and major alterations, plus IFR and transponder certifications under 91.411 and 91.413. Staff include several A&P mechanics with Inspection Authorization, an avionics department with NCATT certified staff, and warranty, records and parts administrators. The Director of Maintenance holds A&P, IA and ATP certificates with BE-300 and CE-525S type ratings.

FBO and facilities

The company has over 12,000 sq ft of hangar space, over 1,000 sq ft of shop space and over 2,000 sq ft of offices. The airport sits just outside Atlanta Class B airspace, and its main ILS runway is 5,500 ft, taking aircraft up to a Gulfstream V. FBO services include:

• Hobart Jet-EX 8D GPU, up to 2,000 amps
• Pilot lounge, kitchen and free Wi-Fi
• Quick turns and after-hours service for a fee
