About Rocket Air

Rocket Air is an aviation company at 1401 General Aviation Drive in Melbourne, Florida, with flight training at its core. Officially rebranded from Melbourne Flight Training in April 2026, it brings together the former Melbourne Flight Training, Heck Air, Sebastian Communication and Fallon Pilot Shop brands under one name. What began as a pilot shop grew into flight training, avionics and instrument panel design, aircraft maintenance and, most recently, charter operations. The flight school trades as Rocket Air Academy (rocketairacademy.com).

Programs

  • Career Aviator Pathway (CAP): a 12-month course from zero experience through Multi-Engine Instructor with at least 250 flight hours and a guaranteed interview for a flight instructor position
  • CFI Academy for commercial pilots preparing to instruct
  • Accelerated flight training, including a Part 141 multi-engine add-on and a Part 61 multi-engine add-on; several accelerated courses include self-examining authority
  • Part 61 flight training from Private Pilot through flight instructor ratings
  • Collegiate partner and international student programs; the school is approved to sponsor M-1 visas
  • Scholarships and renter's insurance information for students

Cirrus

Rocket Air trains in Cirrus aircraft alongside Cessna and Tecnam types, and its Cirrus page says it has the newest G7 Cirrus aircraft to train in or rent for travel, including trips to the Caribbean. It lists the standard SR-series equipment: Cirrus Perspective Touch+ by Garmin, Safe Return emergency autoland on selected aircraft, the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System, synthetic vision, dual WAAS GPS/comm/nav radios, SiriusXM weather and the GFC 700 autopilot. Cirrus Aircraft's locator (October 2026) lists the school's chief instructor as a Platinum CSIP and Cirrus training center contact at Melbourne Orlando International Airport (KMLB). The charter division flies a Cirrus SR22 G6.

Other divisions

  • Aircraft maintenance: inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Avionics installation, upgrades and troubleshooting, including instrument panel design
  • Pilot shop with aviation supplies, pilot gear, training materials and aircraft parts
  • Charter in the Cirrus SR22 G6, with empty-leg flights when aircraft reposition

The company says these divisions exist to support the flight academy, keeping training aircraft maintained and equipment current.
