RealSimGear

Flight simulator hardware and Cirrus-specific AATDs, made in San Diego, California

About RealSimGear

RealSimGear is a flight simulator hardware and software maker based in San Diego, California. Founded by Jarrod Barker, an engineer and pilot who found home simulator hardware lacking during his own private pilot and instrument training, the company began with a replica of the Garmin GNS 530 and has grown into full cockpit systems and FAA-approved training devices. Its simulators are designed, engineered and assembled in the United States.

Products

  • Avionics components: replica Garmin GPS, navigation and autopilot units and avionics suite software (G500, G5 and others) for X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Desktop packages for pilots who want accurate avionics in a minimal footprint
  • Home Series full-cockpit simulators, FAA-approved as Basic Aviation Training Devices (BATD)
  • Pro Series simulators, FAA-approved as Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD), for flight schools and training centers
  • Aircraft-specific cockpits for the Cirrus SR20, SR22, SR22T and SF50, the Diamond DA40 NG, the Piper Archer and the Cessna 172
  • Enterprise solutions for training centers, with turnkey setup and support

Support is by phone, text, email and remote screen sharing, and systems carry a one-year limited warranty with extended options. Pro packages include onsite delivery, installation and staff training.

Cirrus

RealSimGear makes simulators built specifically for Cirrus aircraft. The SRx series replicates the SR20, SR22 and SR22T with Perspective or Perspective+ avionics in Desktop, Home and Pro configurations; the SR7x series mirrors the G7+ SR20, SR22 and SR22T with Perspective Touch+ avionics; and the SFx series is built for the SF50 Vision Jet and includes what the company describes as the first AATD-approved Vision Jet trainer. The SRx Pro AATD has replica Perspective avionics on 10.4-inch screens, a leather-trimmed Cirrus side yoke with adjustable force, a throttle console with fuel pump switch and fuel selector, and a CAPS console whose cover, pin and handle replicate the 45 lb pull of the real aircraft. Systems ship with Torquesim SR20, SR22 and SR22T aircraft models, a dedicated instructor station and a choice of single or triple-screen visuals. The company says 200 SR7x cockpits built for the G7 have shipped to homes, hangars, flight schools and training centers in more than 14 countries, and it supplies Cirrus training programs with systems designed to align with Cirrus Approach courses.
