About PT Dirgantara Indonesia

PT Dirgantara Indonesia, also called PTDI or Indonesian Aerospace, is an aircraft maker based in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The company designs, develops, builds and maintains aircraft. Its aircraft serve civil airlines, military operators and special missions.

PTDI was set up in 1976. Since then it has delivered over 470 aircraft to more than 50 customers. These customers are in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The company says its long design experience lets it create new aircraft. It can also change the systems and structure of an aircraft for a given mission. Examples include maritime patrol, surveillance and coast guard work.

Its own models include the NC212i, the CN235 and the N219. The N219 is its newest aircraft. It is a light turboprop, which means a small plane with propeller engines. The N219 is made for short flights with several stops. It is aimed at remote and difficult areas where regions need an affordable air link.

PTDI also works with large aerospace firms. It works with Airbus Defence and Space on the CN295. It works with Airbus Helicopters on a range of helicopter projects. For Bell Helicopters, it makes key parts for the Bell 412 and Huey II, such as tail booms, door assemblies, pylons and ducts. The two firms also share sales, marketing, customization and maintenance work on the Bell 412EPI.

The website groups the company's work into four areas. These are aircraft, aerostructure, aircraft and engine services, and engineering services and weapon systems. Aerostructure means the frame and body parts of an aircraft.

The company states a vision of becoming the main supplier of medium and light turboprop aircraft. It also wants to be a reference aerospace company in the Asia Pacific region. Its mission describes a center of skill in aerospace and military missions. It also names strategic alliances with other aerospace firms, and products and services that are competitive in quality and cost.

The website has pages on the corporate overview, certificates, organization structure and subsidiaries. It also lists news, press releases, procurement information, and photo and video galleries. Visitors can use it to learn more about the company, its history and its products.
