About Piedmont Airlines
Piedmont Airlines is a regional airline based in Salisbury, Maryland. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group. The airline flies passengers across the eastern United States.
Piedmont runs nearly 400 daily departures to more than 55 cities. Its flights link to American Airlines hubs and focus cities, including Charlotte, Philadelphia and Chicago. The fleet has over 50 Embraer ERJ-145 twin-engine regional jets.
The company has crew bases at Philadelphia International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Harrisburg International Airport. It also has maintenance bases in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Roanoke, Richmond, Middletown, Salisbury and Albany.
Piedmont says its roots go back to 1931. That year Richard A. Henson, a Fairchild Aircraft test pilot, started Henson Aviation, a fixed base operation in Hagerstown, Maryland. Today the airline employs more than 11,000 people.
Much of the website is aimed at job seekers. It lists work for pilots, flight attendants, ground handling staff, maintenance technicians and corporate teams. Staff get travel privileges on the American Airlines network. The company also runs hiring events, such as ground handling events in Greenville-Spartanburg and Boston.
Customer questions about flights and bookings are passed to American Airlines through links on the contact page. The head office phone line is open Monday to Friday. Piedmont states its mission as adding value to American Airlines by running a safe, reliable and profitable company. It also publishes a magazine called Airborne and a history documentary.
