Neste

Neste Oyj is a Finnish energy company headquartered in Espoo, listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. This page covers its aviation business: Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), a renewable alternative to fossil jet fuel. The company also produces renewable diesel, marine fuels and oil products.

Sustainable aviation fuel

Neste says its SAF is a drop-in fuel that meets ASTM D7566 specifications and can be used in existing aircraft engines and airport infrastructure once blended with fossil jet fuel. It states that the fuel is certified for commercial use and can currently be blended up to 50% with conventional jet fuel. Neste also says the neat fuel meets the ReFuelEU Aviation requirement for at least 65% lifecycle greenhouse gas savings against fossil fuel.

Production and customers

Neste describes itself as the world's largest producer of renewable diesel and SAF, with production on three continents, and says its SAF is made from waste and residue raw materials. Its SAF page shows logos of airline and aviation customers including Delta, ANA, Airbus and DHL Group.
