MSI - DFAT SERVICES, LLC

MSI-DFAT Services, LLC provides direct field acoustic testing for space systems. The company is based in Baltimore, Maryland. The site says the company invented direct field acoustic testing, called DFAT. The site describes it as the pioneer of the method, with 16 patents.

The DFAT test setup uses electro dynamic loudspeakers arranged around the test article. The site says this creates a diffuse, well controlled sound field at the surface of the unit under test. It says DFAT replaces reverberant chamber tests, which the site describes as expensive.

The company offers portable DFAT systems and DFAT as a service. The site says the equipment is brought to the client's facility. It says a test is typically completed in three to four days in total. The site says the customer does not need to invest in a facility, equipment, or staff.

The company also sells DFAT equipment and systems. The site lists speaker models named MP-150 and MP-21. It says the speakers are manufactured in house in Baltimore. The site also offers installation, maintenance, repair, and expert consulting services.

The site shows logos for NASA, SpaceX, Maxar, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Northrop Grumman, and other space companies. It lists the services of on-site testing, in-house testing, equipment sales, and chamber enhancement. The address is 4900 Wetheredsville Road, Building 1B, Baltimore, MD 21207. The phone number is (410) 448-1400.
