About MotoArt Studios

MotoArt Studios makes PlaneTags, which are handmade collectible tags cut from the skin of retired aircraft. The tags are made just east of LAX airport in Torrance, California. The company says it gives old planes a second life as keepsakes and gifts for aviation fans and pilots.

The site says the original PlaneTags have been made from real aircraft skin since 2001. Tags are sorted into four groups. These are commercial aircraft, military and vintage aircraft, helicopters, and general aviation. Examples on the site include Boeing 777, 747, 737 and 787 tags, a Dassault Falcon 2000, a Gulfstream G-159 and an American Airlines MD-82.

Prices run from about 25 dollars to 200 dollars for items such as a Navy carrier rudder piece. Buyers can personalize a tag as a luggage tag or give it to a plane lover. The shop also sells items such as coaster sets. The store shows a 4.7 rating from 4,478 reviews.

MotoArt Studios also rents out an aviation themed event space. The site says it suits weddings, company events, social events and private parties. A separate page covers the event space.

The site has a blog with stories about aircraft such as the Cessna 152 and the Dassault Falcon 2000. Visitors can use a contact form to ask about a product, an order or press. The shop says orders above a set amount qualify for domestic shipping at no charge.
