Mirus Aircraft Seating manufactures aircraft seats at its headquarters in Hingham, Norfolk. The company has operations in the United Kingdom, Malaysia and China. It serves aircraft original equipment manufacturers and airlines that need retrofit and refurbishment solutions. Mirus was one of the first manufacturers to bring lightweight aircraft seats to market. Its vision is to unite technology and best practices from the automotive and aerospace sectors.

The company offers economy class seats for short, medium and long range flights. The Kestrel is a fixed recline seat for short range single aisle aircraft. The Hawk reclines for medium range single and twin aisle jets. The Hawk Duo suits short and medium range single aisle operations. The Hawk LR covers medium and long range routes on single and twin aisle planes. The Falcon serves long range single and twin aisle aircraft. Mirus also launched the Hawk Duo LR and Hawk Infinity seats.

All work is done in house. The team handles design, concept sketching, prototyping, testing, certification, manufacture, delivery and aftercare. Mirus uses computer aided engineering for static and dynamic simulation. The production process includes composite component manufacturing with kit cutting, press curing and trimming. Standard seat lead time is six to eight weeks when no modification is needed. The company also offers a fast track dispatch service with a limited number of seats held in stock.

Mirus operates the MTEST dynamic testing facility beside its head office. The laboratory opened in 2023 and spans 407 square meters. It houses a 30 meter dynamic test sled for impact tests. MTEST is the largest commercially available dynamic testing facility in the United Kingdom. It supports aerospace, automotive, rail, medical and military testing standards. Having this capability on site reduces development times and the carbon footprint from shipping seats abroad for testing.

The company holds Production Organisation Approval under Part 21G and Alternative Procedures for Design Organisation Approval under Part 21 subpart O. It is accredited by Airbus under ASR and holds AS9100 Rev D certification. The test laboratory holds UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Mirus has delivered seats to Airbus production lines and supports operators worldwide. Customers include airlines in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East.
