Micro-Surface Finishing Products

Micro-Surface Finishing Products, Inc. is a privately owned manufacturer of Micro-Mesh cushioned abrasives and polishing products, founded and incorporated in 1966 and located in Wilton, Iowa. Its sales office, technical lab, transparency restoration department and manufacturing plant are on one site, and it supports a network of more than 120 national and 12 international distributors. Customers include the aerospace, automotive and cosmetic industries as well as hobby, marine, kitchen and bath and consumer markets.

Aircraft transparencies

Micro-Mesh was originally developed for fine art restoration. In the 1970s it was presented to the military as a way to repair scratched and crazed acrylic aircraft transparencies instead of replacing them. Micro-Surface then applied for and was granted an FAA Repair Station certificate (number KY2R969K, as stated on the site), opened a window repair department and began sending technicians to customer sites. The aerospace range today covers aircraft transparency restoration kits, leading edge polishing, interior surface polishing, paint perfecting and turbine engine blade repair products.

Products are sold online with published prices, through distributors and under private label. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM Central.
