MetaSensing

MetaSensing is an Italian-Dutch company specialised in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technologies and applications since 2008. It designs, manufactures and operates radar sensors for spaceborne, airborne and ground-based remote sensing, covering the full development chain from antenna design and system engineering through radar assembly to advanced SAR processing. Its sensors are described as lightweight, robust, compact, easy to deploy, polarimetric and interferometric, and operate in all weather and light conditions. MetaSensing radars are in use across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Products and services

• Spaceborne SAR payloads for Earth observation missions, from high-performance polarimetric systems to streamlined architectures for efficient integration
• Airborne SAR systems and real-time sensors for security and defence surveillance, monitoring and situational awareness
• Ground-based and airborne radar sensors for natural and man-made hazard prevention and monitoring, providing risk assessment and early warning
• Multi-band radar technology from P-band through L, S, C, X and Ku to Ka-band, with compact and scalable architectures, data acquisition and processing
• Services for mapping, geo-monitoring, defence and space applications

Partnerships and news

MetaSensing has established a strategic partnership with EnduroSat to accelerate access to European SAR capabilities, signed a memorandum of understanding with CONTEC on SAR technology collaboration, and has been selected to supply a SAR payload for the UAE national SAR constellation programme. The company has manufacturing and testing capabilities for rugged, high-reliability radar components and recruits engineers through open positions on its site.
