Maycast-Nokes Precision Engineering is a privately owned UK manufacturer of high-quality aluminium precision castings for the aerospace, marine and premium automotive sectors, operating from a single modern site at Factory Lane West in Halstead, north Essex. The business began in the 1950s as Evans Foundry, a tied foundry making shell and sand moulded aluminium castings for laboratory equipment maker Evans Electroselenium, and became Nokes Foundry when foundry manager Charles Nokes and local businessman Roy Tanner bought it. It describes itself as one of the most comprehensive single-site suppliers of non-ferrous castings in the UK and aims to be the country's most versatile aluminium foundry, carrying out as many processes in house as possible so customers can source fully finished, production-line-ready components from one supplier.

• Investment (lost wax) casting and fine precision sand casting, from prototype through to production
• Investment tooling and fixtures, with design input and tooling advice from the engineering team
• In-house machining, recently upgraded with a Doosan Puma DNT 2600 lathe and the replacement of the last two legacy MH1600 and MH1200 machines
• Finishing services and non-destructive testing including radiography and X-ray inspection and penetrant inspection for crack detection
• Documented procedures, robust inspection and full traceability so castings meet specification for regulated and high-performance applications

The company runs an award-winning apprenticeship programme to retain and develop foundry skills in its region, celebrates long service such as an employee's 25 years with the firm and supports staff through engineering degrees.
