About Marstrom Composites AB

Marstrom Composites AB is a Swedish maker of advanced composite parts, with its home in Västervik. The company has five production sites in Sweden. It works with prepreg carbon fiber and has its own tooling.

The story starts in 1983. Göran Marström, an Olympic bronze medalist in sailing, installed an autoclave to build a faster Tornado catamaran. Boats built by his team then dominated Olympic sailing for years. In 1992 the company began making masts, rudders and daggerboards. It later moved into aerospace and industry. The site says cargo systems made in Västervik are fitted in Boeing and Airbus aircraft.

Today it supplies defense, marine, industrial and aerospace customers. Defense work covers composites for ground, marine and airborne systems. Other products include precision tables used in proton therapy, loudspeaker enclosures, turret systems and wind turbine blades.

The service range covers engineering and development, tool and mould making, composite manufacturing, and post processing and assembly. Engineers work with CAD and simulation tools. Production methods are prepreg autoclave, vacuum infusion, resin transfer moulding and wet lamination. The autoclaves reach 35 meters in length and 12 bar in pressure. Moulds are cut on 5-axis machines up to 20 meters long.

The group also names JPC Composite, Composite Design, ID Modeller and Carbonia Composites as sister operations. The company is ISO 9001 certified and says its production is traceable. The phone number is +46 490 89580.
