About Manes Machine & Engineering

Manes Machine & Engineering is a precision machining company in Fort Collins, Colorado. It makes complex machined parts for the aerospace industry. The company was founded in 1983.

It started in Ontario, California. In 1993 it moved its operations to Fort Collins. The company says it has invested millions of dollars in improving how it delivers a higher quality part at a lower cost. It was once nominated by Lockheed as its Small Business Supplier of the Year, and it has received awards and letters of praise from customers for delivery and quality.

The main work is five-axis machining of complex parts, with a focus on hard metals. The shop handles parts from 1 inch to 120 inches. It is a specialist in titanium and other exotic metals. Recent work shown includes spar fittings, cheek fairings, an engine cowling heatshield, a wheel well trunnion fitting assembly, an outboard rib assembly and large titanium side fittings. The parts come from aluminum forgings, 7050 aluminum plate, titanium forgings and 15-5 forgings. Products fall into four size groups, based on machine capacity and enclosures.

Assembly work adds value to the machining. Manes builds simple and complex assemblies and offers custom kitting and component integration. It also does the engineering needed to make and assemble complex systems.

The shop keeps adding machines. In December 2024 it added a GROB G750, a five-axis horizontal machining center that can run with pallet pools and robots for lights-out, 24/7 work. In May 2025 it added two GROB G350 machines with PSS-R450 automation to raise capacity.

The quality system is certified to AS9100 Rev D. The company is ITAR registered and MBD and DPD certified, and it uses an AS9102 first article inspection process. Its quality scope covers making, assembling and kitting parts used in industrial and aerospace work. Its core values are excellence, accountability, teamwork, leadership and quality.
