Madelec Aero

Madelec Aero is a French company that designs and makes products for aircraft. It makes LED lighting for the cabin and cockpit, and instruments such as probes and switches. The company was founded in April 1994 and says it works only in aerospace. Its plant is in Rambouillet, France.

The company lists lighting products for many aircraft types. These include plug and play T800 LED tube lights in white and in color, with a built-in ballast. They also include replacement LED reading light bulbs, passenger information signs and placards, programmable OLED displays, low profile lighting and ambient lighting. It also makes photo-luminescent floor path marking for emergency exits.

Madelec says it handles project management, design, development, sample approval, qualification, final assembly, testing and quality management. It also writes the supporting documents and drawings. Parts manufacture and treatments are given to specialized and controlled subcontractors.

The plant covers 1,000 square meters. Its tools include a climatic chamber, two dark rooms, a clean room, a data logger and a photometer. Design is done with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and with SPEOS software for light simulation. A research laboratory supports its products.

The about page lists the manufacturers and airlines it names as references. They include Airbus, Boeing, Leonardo, ATR, Bell, Textron, Bombardier, Embraer, Airbus Helicopters, Piaggio and Air France. Other names are Delta Air Lines, Zodiac, Stelia Aerospace, Sabena Technics and Sagem.

Madelec lists these approvals: AFNOR certification to EN/AS/JISQ 9100 and ISO 9001, DGAC Part 21 subpart G for production, and Part 145. It also lists an EASA design capability approval. Its engineers cover LED, electronics, mechanics, thermal management, materials and project management.
