LUXUAV

LUXUAV is building an unmanned aircraft ecosystem for security and autonomy in Europe. The company is based in Luxembourg.

It describes its aim as a sovereign European infrastructure. The ecosystem is designed around artificial intelligence from the start. LUXUAV says Europe should own and improve the autonomous systems it relies on, rather than outsource them.

The system links ground, air and stratospheric platforms through one architecture and one command layer. It is meant to support current operations and future forces. LUXUAV says autonomy sits at the core of the design, not on top of it.

The ecosystem has three layers. Layer A is made up of low-altitude platforms that work close to the mission area. They carry out tasks and report events. They are built to work where GNSS signals are denied or limited, and they send sensor data only when it matters. This cuts network load and lowers the system signature. Layer A is the first layer to be deployed.

Layer B is the relay layer at mid altitude. These platforms act as mobile airborne relays. They link the low-altitude nodes with higher layers, gather traffic and extend coverage over wider areas.

Layer C works in the stratosphere. These high-altitude platforms give wide-area connectivity and act as the backbone of the network. They manage traffic flows and route data between relay cells.

The company says its capabilities are designed to be industrially viable from the start and ready to scale. It also says operational experience from Ukraine feeds into its testing and production work. LUXUAV invites talks with partners on national priorities and industrial frameworks.
