LION Helicopters

LION Helicopters, which trades as LionHeli.aero, is the exclusive dealer of Guimbal helicopters for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and surrounding countries. The company runs a flight school, a helicopter rental fleet, a maintenance base and experience flights. It has been flying with clients for over 14 years.

The company bills only the actual minutes a helicopter is in the air. Many flight schools bill in six minute blocks, starting from rotor spin up. LION says its training, rental and experience flights are billed minute by minute, with no extra charge for taxi, run up or cool down.

The fleet is built around the Guimbal Cabri G2. The company calls it the safest two seat helicopter in its class, and says it is ideal for training, experience flights and personal flying. The company says it operates the largest Cabri G2 fleet in the Czech Republic. It also presents the five seat GrandCabri G5, which is still in development.

The flight school offers a full modular path from PPL(H) to CPL(H), FI(H) and type ratings. Its instructors bring experience from VIP, HEMS, mountain flying and commercial operations. The school is an EASA approved training organisation certified by the Czech CAA. Trial lessons are sold through the online shop.

Experience flights are sold as gifts or for personal use. They start from 15 minutes. Rental uses fully equipped and insured Cabri G2 helicopters. A safety pilot is available on request. The company also sells aviation accessories through its online shop.

The company is the Guimbal dealer for the region and offers helicopter service as well. It holds Part 145 maintenance approval and Part CAMO continuing airworthiness management. It maintains its own authorized maintenance base and takes care of the helicopter from start to finish.

The company hosts events such as course starts, air shows, expos and open days. It also shares news about student milestones, including first solo flights and new licences. It describes its approach as safe, joyful and fairly priced, and says each client is treated as an individual.
