Lindstrand Balloons USA

Lindstrand Balloons USA designs and builds hot air balloons. Its balloons are made for commercial, competition and pleasure flying. The company offers standard shapes, special shapes and racers. It says Lindstrand balloons have been made in the United States for over twenty years.

The factory has a team of experts who can answer questions and give advice. The company says its production team works hard to keep a high standard of craftsmanship. It also says it has many engineering talent and access to textile testing facilities.

Several balloon lines are listed. The A-Series comes in 24 gore and 28 gore versions, which gives many design choices. A gore is one of the long panels that make up the balloon envelope. The X-Series is aimed at competition and sport flying. The Expedition is a light, lower cost sport balloon that is easy to handle.

Special shape balloons are another specialty. The company says they can capture the imagination and be remembered. Lindstrand uses in-house graphic design software and CNC cutting. It says this keeps the finished balloon true to the customer's artwork.

The company has dealers across the United States. They share ballooning knowledge and welcome new enthusiasts to the sport. Lindstrand says more balloonists are finding an affordable, quality choice with a personal touch.

Customers on the website include ride operators, corporate balloon pilots and competition fliers. They come from places such as Albuquerque, Austin, St. Louis and Cedar Rapids. They praise the fabric, sewing, baskets and burners, and they speak well of customer service after the sale. One pilot says they have flown Lindstrand balloons since 2000. Another owns three envelopes, used for competition, fun flying and a ride business.

A news item says Ultramagic Balloons and Lindstrand Balloons USA announced an alliance. John Petrehn was hired to lead Ultramagic USA operations.
