About Leonardo Helicopters

Leonardo Helicopters is the helicopter business of Leonardo. The company describes itself as a global leader in vertical flight. It offers a full range of helicopters, tiltrotors and unmanned solutions.

Its platforms operate in more than 150 countries. Each platform is supported by integrated training, maintenance and mission support services. The site says these services help ensure performance, safety and reliability in every scenario.

The helicopter range is split into military products and civil and parapublic products. The company offers customer support services and training, and it runs a demo tour for civil and parapublic customers. A safety section is also part of the website.

A new flight simulator production area has opened at Sesto Calende. The building can accommodate up to five simulators at a time, which expands the company's capabilities in advanced flight training systems.

A new maintenance hub for helicopters has opened at Brindisi. It is the first maintenance base for Italian public service helicopters in southern Italy. It will provide first level assistance to the Italian Armed Forces and state bodies.

The site highlights a deal worth £1bn for AW149 helicopters, with a statement from the chief executive on renewed UK commitment. It also promotes a webinar series called The science of vertical flight, and the Polaris Innovation Journal on modelling and simulation.
